Description | acetylcholine binding (alpha) subunits of muscle nicotinic receptors, structural subunits of one subtype of neuronal nicotinic receptors from chicken brain; muscle nicotinic receptors of most species, receptors; immunohistology: from chicken brain; binds to the main immunogenic region on the extracellular surface of alpha subunits of muscle nicotinic receptors; binds to muscle nicotinic receptors from Electrophorus, Torpedo, Rana, chickens, rats, mice, humans, etc., but not to Xenopus. Binds to some neuronal nicotinic receptor subtypes in chickens and finches and cattle, but not to other subtypes in chickens, rats, cattle, and humans; Muscle nicotinic receptors are composed of 4 kinds of subunits with the stoichiometry alpha(2)beta gamma delta., Sites that bind acetylcholine and alpha-bungarotoxin are on the alpha subunits. Neuronal; nicotinic receptors are composed of 2 kinds of subunits, acetylcholine-binding subunits and structural subunits. There are several subtypes of neuronal nicotinic receptors, but none bind alpha-bungarotoxin.; mAb 35 has high affinity for native receptors; mAb 35 has very low affinity for denatured receptors and not good for blotting; mAb 35 can be used for affinity purification; cDNA sequences for the subunits of nicotinic receptors f(more.).
