Description | IL-13 Antibody, anti-human, PE. Interleukin-13 (IL-13) is produced primarily by activated T?2 cells, but also by mast cells, NK cells, and dendritic cells. IL-13 exerts anti-inflammatory effects on monocytes and macrophages. Furthermore, it inhibits the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-8. IL-13 has also been shown to enhance B cell proliferation and to induce isotype switching, resulting in an increased production of IgE. | IL-13, in contrast to IL-4, fails to induce T?2 cell differentiation, one of the hallmarks of the allergic response. |
