Description | CD272 (BTLA) Antibody, anti-mouse, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA224 recognizes the mouse CD272 antigen, which is also known as B- and T-lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) or B- and T-lymphocyte-associated protein. CD272, an Ig domain superfamily receptor protein with similarities to cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 and programmed death-1, is expressed on various cell types like splenic T and B cells, macrophages, NK cells, dendritic cells as well as lymph node tissues but very weakly in somatic tissues. A polymorphic tissue distribution between several mouse strains is seen. Crosslinking CD272 with antigen receptors results in downregulation of T cell activation and attenuates production of interleukin 2. CD272 deficient mice have increased specific antibody responses and enhanced incidence and severity of autoimmune disorders. | Additional information: Clone REA224 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
