Description | CD362 (Syndecan-2) Antibody, anti-human, Vio® Bright V423, REAfinity™. Clone REA468 recognizes the human CD362 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as syndecan-2, fibroglycan, or heparan sulfate proteoglycan core protein (HSPG). The syndecans are a family of transmembrane receptors with roles in cell adhesion, migration, and growth factor signaling. CD362 is expressed on mesenchymal cells in the vasculature and, like the other members of its family, can be shed from the cell surface resulting in the release of its extracellular core protein. It is also expressed on neuronal and epithelial cells, and is the predominant syndecan expressed during embryonic development. Expression of CD362 is upregulated in several cancer cell lines. CD362 induces dendritic spine formation in hippocampal neurons, and this depends on phosphorylation of the CD362 cytoplasmic domain by the tyrosine kinase receptor EphB. In colon carcinoma cells CD362 expression affects adhesion, proliferation, and tumorigenic activity. | Additional information: Clone REA468 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
