Description | CD218a (IL-18Rα) Antibody, anti-mouse, PE, REAfinity™. Clone REA947 recognizes the mouse CD218a antigen, also known as interleukin-18 receptor alpha (IL-18Rα). CD218a, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is a subunit of the heterodimeric receptor complex of alpha- and beta-chains for the pleiotropic proinflammatory IL-18 cytokine. IL-18 belongs to the IL-1 superfamily and is expressed by monocytes, macrophages, epithelial cells, and keratinocytes. CD218a (IL-18Rα) is found on T?1 cells, subsets of NK cells, and granulocytes. IL-18 plays a role in induction of inflammatory mediators, regulation of the cytotoxic activity of NK and T cells, and differentiation and activation of T?1 and T?2 cells. | Additional information: Clone REA947 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
