| Description | Specificity: HISTONE DEACETYLASE 1. Rabbit anti Histone deacetylase 1 recognizes human histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1), also known as RPD3L1. HDAC1 is a 482 amino acid member of the histone deacetylase family responsible for the deacetylation of core histone N-terminal lysines. Histone acetylation and deacetylation play important roles in modifying chromatin structure and regulating eukaryotic gene expression. HDAC1 is a ubiquitously expressed ~62kD class I HDAC enzyme, which is related to the yeast transcriptional regulator Rpd3p (Bertos et al. 2001). |
