| Description | Rabbit anti ATM (pSer1981) antibody recognizes serine-protein kinase ATM, also known as ataxia telangiectasia mutated, when phosphorylated at serine 1981. ATM is a serine/threonine protein kinase and a member of the PI3K/P14K-kinase family. ATM is a cell cycle checkpoint kinase that exists as an inactive dimer. In response to DNA damage, autophosphorylation of ATM at serine 1981 occurs, resulting in the dissociation of the dimer and initiating ATM kinase activity (Bakkenist and Kastan 2003). |
