Description | Specificity: Absorption with 10-100 mg immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is an oncofetal antigen, which is expressed by the fetus, repressed during normal adult life and derepressed in various tumours. Normally CEA occurs in fetal colon, liver and pancreas. In adult, CEA is found in colorectal cancer, in carcinomas of the intestine, and in tumours of the pancreas, lung and thyroid. |
Immunogen | Source Note: Polyclonal anti-CEA was obtained by immunizing a rabbit with human CEA. |
