| Description | Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY) Antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phosphorylated tyrosine peptide coupled to agarose. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit IgG. Reactivity is specific for phosphotyrosine and minimal cross reactivity is observed against phosphothreonine or phosphoserine. Phosphotyrosine is the tyrosine amino acid that has been phosphorylated and is considered one of the integral steps in signal transduction and general enzyme activity. Tyrosine is phosphorylated through protein kinases and through phosphorylation, phosphotyrosine can bind other proteins causing binding of multi-protein complexes that connect the upstream kinases and downstream effectors. Phosphotyrosine-binding domains, or PTB's, are pervasive throughout the study of signal transduction and disease.Anti-Phosphotyrosine (pY) Antibody is ideal for investigators in Cancer, Signal Transduction, and Cell Signaling research. |
