Product Name | Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein IgG ELISA (Quantitative) |
Description | This Titration immunoassay is intended for quantitative determination of SARS-CoV-2 in respiratory specimens and human serum. There is no standard reference SARS-CoV-2 antigen material available; accordingly, absolute analytical sensitivity cannot be calculated. The kit detects for IgG Antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 Spike proteins. Human SARS-CoV-2 protein is pre-coated onto microwells. Samples and standards are pipetted into microwells and IgG Antibodies to human SARS-CoV-2 present in the sample are bound by the protein antigen. The assay allows the quantitative determination of samples of an unknown concentration titer (immunological titer) and the calibration of the kit standards. SARS-CoV-2, a single stranded RNA virus, has quickly become the subject of much research worldwide. Coronaviruses are composed of four primary proteins: the spike (S), envelope (E), membrane (M), and nucleocapsid (N). The spike protein (S-protein) performs two primary tasks that aid in host infection: 1) mediates the attachment between the virus and host cell surface receptors such as ACE2, and 2) facilitates viral entry into the host cell by assisting in the fusion of the viral and host cell membranes. Sample types: respiratory specimens, serum, plasma, cell culture supernate. Range: 0 - 720 AU/ml. Sensitivity: 10 AU/ml. Incubation time: 2.5 hr. |
